A Death Certificate is a certificate issued by an appropriate officer appointed by Government of India. Prior to the issue of death certificate, the authorities required to obtain a certificate from certified medical practitioner or a government doctor who is having authority to issue such certificate, to know the cause of death. This certificate consists of details such as age of person, sex, place, time and cause of death about deceased person and the same will be entered into the official register of deaths. Each and every government department has their own procedure to follow and implement in regard to the production of documents for any legal requirement. The main purpose of the certificate is to re-examine the cause of death and may be to claim person’s life insurance (if any) or any other.
